Game Features

A familiar one-button runner with enough variety and feedback to make every attempt feel worth chasing.

Instant controls

Use Space, the arrow keys, a mouse, or large touch buttons without a setup screen.

Rising pace

The run gradually accelerates, giving beginners time to learn and experienced players a real challenge.

Local best score

Your best result is saved in this browser, so the next target is ready when you return.

Focused fullscreen

Expand the whole game panel while keeping score, pause, sound, and controls within reach.

Optional sound

Short generated cues confirm jumps and milestones, and the setting stays saved locally.

Responsive play

The canvas and controls adapt to phones, tablets, laptops, and high-density screens.

How to Play Dino Run

Your dinosaur runs automatically. Your job is to read each obstacle, choose the right move, and keep the run alive as the speed increases.

Start and jump

Choose Start, press Space or ↑, or tap the game area. Use the same action to jump over cacti. A jump only triggers while the dinosaur is on the ground.

Duck under birds

When a bird flies low, hold ↓ or the Duck touch control. Releasing the control makes the dinosaur stand again. Pressing down in the air also speeds up the landing.

Read the obstacle

Single and double cacti require a jump. Higher birds can be passed on the ground, while low birds are safest to duck under.

Build a high score

Your score grows with distance and the pace rises over time. The current score, personal best, and speed multiplier remain visible inside the game area.

Use pause and fullscreen

Press P or use the pause button whenever you need a break. Fullscreen expands the panel without hiding the essential controls.

Improve your timing

  • Watch the obstacle base instead of the scenery.
  • Jump late enough to clear wider cactus groups.
  • Use short, deliberate inputs as the speed rises.
  • Keep your eyes slightly ahead of the dinosaur.

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about controls, scoring, speed, saved data, sound, and mobile play.

Which controls can I use?

Press Space or ↑ to jump, hold ↓ to duck, and press P to pause. You can also tap the canvas to jump or use the two touch buttons on smaller screens.

How does the score work?

The score is based on distance traveled. The run slowly accelerates, so surviving at higher scores requires faster timing.

Is my best score saved?

Yes. The highest score and sound preference are stored locally in your browser. No account or server upload is required.

Why did the game pause by itself?

The game pauses when the tab becomes hidden or the window loses focus so an interruption does not end your run unfairly.

Does Dino Run work on phones?

Yes. The game provides large Jump and Duck controls, a responsive canvas, and touch input for mobile and tablet play.

Can I turn the sound off?

Yes. Use the speaker button above the canvas. This preference is saved in the current browser.

Do I need an internet connection while playing?

After the page and its files have loaded, the game runs entirely in your browser and does not need a game server for each action.
